About us
With a family background in footwear manufacturing reaching back to the early 1900s, and continued
through various generations, the focus of our work eventually turned to sourcing finished footwear
and leather goods from a variety of fine quality manufacturers, each specialized in particular
constructions to offer the highest levels of expertise in order to satisfy the most exigent of
clients.
The current structure of Polo Shoes as a sourcing company reaches back to 1985.
Essentially a family company, Polo Shoes has a team of dedicated staff with a vast experience of
developing products, controlling day-to-day production, and seeing to the efficient and timely
despatch of our clients’ collections and orders, either directly to retailers or to distribution
hubs.

We source high quality men, ladies and children’s footwear, ranging from formal dress to chic casuals and sports sneakers in the finest leathers and materials available – varied casual wear, from the most sporty to the more fashion conscious.
Whether you are looking for high end dress, chic casual, rugged wear or vintage retro, for men or women, we at Polo can find the right source for your needs.

If a first visit of your product development team is not possible, then at this stage, and in order to save time, all that would be needed for Polo to commence work on the client`s behalf would be:
- Lead shoes with or without lasts in order to develop last forms and get a feeling for the type of article required.
- Designs of shoes to develop for the various groups of constructions.
- Lasts, material/colour specifications if already defined.
- Price targets.
Working with the above, we can either send prototypes for appraisal or, as is more usual, someone from your client`s development department will visit us. Here it is then possible to evaluate the source factories, the products, and in most cases, give the final touches to the end product envisaged.
Current number of source factories is 24, spread over men’s, ladies’, and children’s footwear covering constructions as varied as:

Team
POLO has over thirty-five years of experience in sourcing footwear and leather goods for quality branded houses on the Portuguese market, with a staff of nine persons.Our offices are manned by English, Portuguese, French and German speaking staff.
Development Team
Working with Polo will allow you to have three dedicated developers, who are responsible for the various customers’ accounts, with a long and varied experience in working with design teams to rapidly and efficiently prepare your collections.

This department is responsible for the processing of your official POs; maintaining you constantly informed of the bulk manufacturing progress; advising you of final dispatch details; dealing with general instructions for packaging, labelling, and distribution of finished goods (either to your central depot, or directly to your distribution hubs per country).
This department is responsible for the processing of official PO's, maintaining you informed of the bulk manufacturing progress, on a weekly or fortnightly basis, and advising on the final dispatch details. Instructions regarding any specifics to do with the development, packaging and labelling of articles, as well as distribution of finished goods to either your central depot, or directly to distribution hubs per country is also handled here.
Quality Assurance Team
Made up of three full time, fully technically trained controllers who accompany the production of all SMS samples, CMF samples and bulk production, from the arrival of the raw materials through to final box stock AQL
